Our Vision and Christian Distinctiveness
At Staplegrove Church School, our vision is to be a learning family, being the best versions of ourselves.
Our vision was chosen following consultation with pupils, parents, staff and governors where we focused on what makes Staplegrove Church School a special place to learn and grow and how this links with our Christian foundation.
Our vision is theologically underpinned by our commitment for all members of the school family to enjoy "Life, life in all its fullness." John 10:10.
Christian Values are at the heart of our learning family. Our core Values of Respect, Courage, Perseverance, Thankfulness, Truthfulness and Friendship were chosen by the whole school community and are integral to our school’s work.
Our vision and values are understood, celebrated and lived and help form our school's safe and nurturing environment where everyone can be the best version of themselves.
Friendship – "Love one another as I have loved you." (John 13:34)
Perseverance – "But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded." (Chronicles 15:7)
Respect - "Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us." (Ephesians 5:1-2)
Thankfulness - "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." (Chronicles 16:34)
Courage – "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9)
Truthfullness -
Children's reflections
"We really showed ourselves as a learning family during our time at Barton Hall. We put out trust into each other during some of our activities such as canoeing, ziplining and vertical challenge. We were respectful and celebrated each other’s achievements." - Year 6
“We showed teamwork and friendship we made our Easter nests. We were a learning family by working together. We learnt how to do it from the older children. We listened and followed instructions carefully to make our nests the best that they could be.” - Year 2
"In Science, we were learning about lifecycles. We went onto the school field to find ladybirds in their different stages of life. As a learning family, we all helped each other and worked together, and we were all excited to be learning in our lovely green space, surrounded by nature. I really enjoyed seeing the ladybirds in real life as it was so much better than just seeing a picture. We were the best versions of ourselves because we were focused on our learning and excited about science and nature." - Year 5
"Going to Combe Farm helped me feel I was living life in all its fulness." - Year 3
